Siem welcomed Governor Dan McKee, Stephen King (Managing Director of Quonset Development Corporation) and Matt Martyn (Director of Business Development NORAD) and other distinguished guests in the Port of Davisville last week.
COVID-19 policies in the State of Rhode Island are being lifted for vaccinated individuals as per CDC Guidelines after more than a year of restrictions and lockdowns due to the pandemic.
We were extremely lucky to join the vessel and talk to the crew face to face, as this is the first time that guests were permitted onboard in more than a year. Even though guests that were fully vaccinated no longer required masks, the health check protocols were fully implemented on board the vessel as required for the safety of the crew.
The day kicked off with a ribbon cutting by Governor McKee, Mr. King and Jeffrey Campbell (President SCC), on pier upgrades in the Port of Davisville, marking encouraging signs of the industry recovering from the Pandemic. Our partners at North Atlantic Distribution (NORAD) were gracious enough to give a tour of their processing facilities, where hundreds of thousands of vehicles are processed before they are sent to dealerships across the Northeast.
Mariusz Bereznicki, Captain of the Cicero, gave guests an inside look at the impressive features of the PCTC giant. The events of the day can be seen in depth in the accompanying video.
